With how much sensitivity and care the three musicians play together, how wonderfully they balance the sound of the clarinet, cello and piano.
— Imke Griebsch

Magically played by the Quantum Clarinet Trio…Congratulations on a very powerful debut album.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - Fono Forum

The Quantum Clarinet Trio, whose performances maintain “radiance and tension…from the first to the last note” (Remy Franck, Pizzicato Magazine) and whose “interplay is perfectly coordinated” (Imke Griebsch, RBB), has established itself as a leading clarinet trio of its generation.

The three musicians, who met while studying at the University Mozarteum in Salzburg, have been playing together since 2019 and just a few months later they attracted attention by winning the third prize at the Fischoff Chamber Music Competition (USA).

Their debut CD, featuring works by Brahms, Kahn, and Frühling, was released in autumn 2023 in co-production with Deutschlandfunk Kultur on the label Hänssler Classic, and has received numerous enthusiastic reviews from the press. They received 5 star reviews in the Pizzicato Magazine, Fono Forum, Amadeus Magazine, and Musica Magazine, as well as radio broadcasts on Ö1, Bremen 2, RBB, Deutschlandfunk Kultur and the Italian radio MCA, among others. They also appeared on the “Generations France Musique - Le live” radio show in Paris and were selected with their CD by Charlotte Gardner as a “Classical Choice” January 2024 in her dCS column.

Regular performers on the international chamber music scene, the Quantum Clarinet Trio has given concerts at La Scala Museum in Milan, the Sale Apollinee at the Teatro La Fenice in Venice, and the Società del Quartetto in Bergamo. They also performed in Grafenegg, Austria, and in the Schönberg Hall in The Hague, where they played a concert for the Dutch RadioWest. Further concerts have taken the ensemble to Manchester, Paris and Berlin, where they performed at the Villa Elisabeth. On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the invention of the radio, the ensemble and soprano Simone Kermes produced a radio show commissioned by the Brandenburg Festival.

The trio is committed to bringing their audiences rediscovered treasures that were hidden in music history, along with the classic masterpieces from over the centuries. Dedicated to contemporary music and actively collaborating with composers, the Quantum Clarinet Trio premiered "Unintended Consequences", a work written for them by composers Stefano Seghedoni and Moon Unit Zappa, in January 2024 (Modena, Italy).

Between 2022 and 2023, the Quantum Clarinet Trio was supported by the Commissioner for Culture and Media of the Federal Republic of Germany and the “Neustart Kultur” program, and since 2021 the ensemble has participated in the European Chamber Music Academy (ECMA), where they receive regular lessons from important musical figures including Hatto Beyerle, Johannes Meissl, Patrick Judt, and Kathryn Stott. Wolfgang Redik (Vienna Piano Trio) and Alois Brandhofer (Berlin Philharmonics) were also important mentors for the ensemble.

In physics, a quantum is the minimum amount of any physical entity involved in an interaction and for this reason indivisible. Music, as a quantum, is the essence that brings this trio together.
